Mark Carmody Photography

Mark Carmody has been interested in wildlife since he was a young boy and has been an avid birdwatcher since he was 12 and a twitcher when time allows. He started taking photographs in a concentrated manner of a wide variety of subject matter when he moved to Japan in 2005 following a number of years carrying out research in genetics after completion of his PhD in Biochemistry. His travels around Japan and subsequent journeys around Ireland and Europe have resulted in a vast and varied portfolio of birds from those regions. Mark has had his photographs published in Birding World and WINGS (publication of the NGO Birdwatch Ireland). Mark is now living back in Ireland and the photographs presented here are from Ireland and his travels. All photographs are taken using the Canon EOS-1D Mark III & EOS-1Ds Mark III cameras, together with a combination of professional L series lenses routinely used to obtain the highest quality wildlife & other images. Digital photographs are taken using the high-resolution RAW format, ensuring that the highest possible quality is achieved. All photographs represented here are in low-resolution JPEG format for use on the web.
